Jungeun Kim is a passionate and highly responsible Korean language educator. Shehas taught Korean for 5 years at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University as Adjunct Faculty, with experience teaching beginners to upper-intermediate levels in university settings. She has worked with diverse learners, including heritage and non-heritage students.

She holds a Master of Education in Foreign Language Education from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to her university teaching, she is currently leading intensive Korean language courses for U.S. Special Forces personnel at a federal government program, specializing in OPI and DLPT preparation. Through these programs, she has helped learners at levels ranging from 0+ to 3 (beginner to advanced) develop practical speaking skills and test strategies required for professional proficiency.

Drawing on extensive experience teaching English in South Korea and Korean in the United States, she has developed a communicative, content-based, and student-centered teaching philosophy tailored to students’ goals. She integrates authentic materials and cultural content to build confidence and practical language skills.

Committed to a supportive classroom environment, she encourages risk-taking, cultural comparison, and multiple perspectives, and values strong teacher-student relationships. Supporting students’ growth and confidence continues to inspire her passion for teaching Korean.
